16 Year Old Springer ~ mixed

by Barb
(Blaine, mn)

I have a 16 year old springer who is a major part of my family. He is still eating ok and drinking water.

But he does not to get out of his bed lately. I have encouraged him to come with me on short walks. But even those have become shorter.

I know he is 16 and on the older end of life. Is there anything you can tell me about that might help him feel better?

Hi there
Mungo is my Mums springer and he is 16 years old and does exactlty the same. They are just tired and old and as long as they are not in pain they are fine.

16 year old Springer NEW
by: Beanne

Our Springer Spaniel, Baxter will "celebrate" his 16th birthday next Sunday, 6 March. He eats well, drinks well and sleeps a lot. Still enjoys his treats and tells the cats off if they try to steal his food. We took him on 5 years ago as an elderly gentleman and we couldn't have asked for a better dog - gentle, loving, obedient (when he chose to be!), wonderful with our young great-granddaughters, rarely barks usually only to ask to come inside or tell the cats off. I'd recommend an English Springer Spaniel to anyone looking for a good family dog!
