	A football theme by Dave (Preston) Our ESS was born during the 2006 World Cup and, like all the litter, had a pedigree world cup name - Melverly Golden Boot. We decided to maintain the footballing theme and had a thought that we'd call him after whoever won the Golden Boot award, given to the player who scores the most goals in the competition. At one stage we wondered if Italian star Francesco Totti would win and I confess at that point I drew the line, refusing to entertain the prospect of wandering our local parks shouting "Here Totti". The footballing theme was maintained though, with the name Finney being in honour of the Prestonian gent and legend, Sir Tom Finney. Suits him well. Click here to post comments.
