Can I give my springer something mild to calm her down a little?
I have an 8 year old springer who just will not relax and be at ease.. ever!. She is constantly boiling over all the time - even straight after excercise she is still like it. She is frantic if you pet her and give her attention and she is frantic if you dont. If you pet her she isnt happy with just being stroked - she tries to climb on you. I have tried more excersise and ignorong her if she is going bonkers for attention until she is calm - but she never gets calm.. she just tries to clamber up if you ignore her. I have a lab/springer cross of the same age who is very calm and is starting to get fed up with Florence jumping all over her all the time and has been getting bad tempered with her. We love having her around us in the day and evening but at the moment quite often I will have to make her leave the room because she wont settle and keep trying to climb all over us and the children. Can you offer any advice? Is there anything mild I can give her to help her be a bit calmer - she just seems very anxious all the time.
