Female or Male Springer Spaniel?

I have already had one springer spaniel, he was male and lived to the age of 13, he was very well behaved, but could be extremely stubborn.

I am now looking into the possibility of another springer spaniel, and wondered if a female would be easier to train, Thankyou.

I have just got my first springer spaniel bitch and she is an absolute dream, but I don't think that is entirely down to her sex. Her mum and dad were very centered and relaxed, so she has inherited their traits.

I think as a rule bitches can be more bidable but I think its more down to the parents temperament. George is a dream too, very easy to train, has never run away and always comes when called, so there are relaxed boys out there too.

Males are easier

I have 3 Springers and my boy is easier he was more stubborn but my girls try to rule the roost. He is more loving and accepts things easier. He got a lot less stubborn after he was neutered at 5 years. He doesnt run off and wants to be constantly at my side. My girls are lot more independent than he was. I love them all the same but I would defineatly go for a boy.

We've had two girls & they have both been gorgeous, non-barking, gentle ladies. I wonder when this old precious girl goes will we be lucky enough to find another. Good luck.

We have one of each - Cassy keeps our lives "mixed up". She's a smart little thing and likes to control everything. Sammy, our male, is laid back and the bestest springer ever!

I have two female Springers. One is almost 13, the other is 3. My older one can be very stubborn and requires continual training to remind her who the true pack leader is. She's a great dog as long as we keep up with gentle reminders. My younger one is a very gentle soul who has no stubborn streak and only wants to sit on your lap.

I have had male dogs, though not specifically the Springer breed and I found them to be very nice dogs too. They were neutered, which I think helps a lot.
