Flying our new springer puppy home.

He'll be 7-8 weeks old. WIl he still be small enough to carry him onboard the plane and fit him in the carrier under a seat....I really don't want him to go in the cargo hold.

Thanks Cathy, My main concern is that he's small enough to fit under the seat. I am a flight attendant, so I am covered on the rest of the info. FYI--it is against FAR's to remove any animal from the carrier while on board....this is for the safety of the animal as well as the hundreds of passengers. Many folks are irritated if not mad when the flight attendants remind them of this rule. I find that usually the animal is fine, it's the people who are anxious. thanks!

Yes he will be, I wish that I had done this. My pup still doesn't like to hear an airplane overhead. Talk with your carrier first to make sure that they do this, you don't want a switcheroo pulled after you have purchased your ticket. Make sure that you bring baby wipes to clean up any messes fast so as not to have the smell disturb others, and to keep your pup clean for his own well being. This way you won't need to interrupt flight attendants. And some little dixie cups that he can drink or snack from. And a little blanket for your lap that you can corral and cuddle him with. Maybe a flannel pillowcase would work for this, so if you sneak him out for a cuddle he is contained, and wouldn't fall and squirm away and end up three rows down!
