forever panting springer spaniel

We have a two year old springer spaniel who is very much a nervous dog, but he always seems to be panting. Whether we go on a short walk or a long walk or just getting ready for a walk he is panting madly, he is fine in all other aspects, completely mad as a springer should be, wondered if anyone else has this problem.

Panting Springer
by: Michele

Dogs that are anxious, excited or fearful tend to pant a lot. You can try to direct his attention somewhere else to try to calm him. You can also try some natural calming foods. I don't know how well they work as I've never used them, but it might be worth a try.

Oatmeal is considered a calming food. You can add right to your dog's food. Also chamomile tea. You can brew it and add to food too.

I wonder if you have any new situations at home, such as a new baby or new carpet....sometimes things out of the ordinary cause dogs to become anxious.
