General advice needed regarding our Springer Puppy

(uk)

My 9 week female springer has discovered her bark. and everytime I go to put washing out she lays flat and starts to bark and lunges at my feet and starts bitting luckly im wearing boots but I'm worried in case she does this to my daughter.

I didnt say anthing I turned my back and walked away. She kept doing this all the same. Also she doesn't like going for a walk its only down the road round and back 10mins at the very most as not had her 2nd jab yet. Its like I have to drag her very embarrassing im hoping this will change as I thought springers love walking.

Also should I leave the back door open? She can wander around as its all fenched up. She goes to the toilet outside or will this confuse her toilet habits? I just didn't want to keep the door shut she has the conservatory and kitchen area. I've put a stair gate up between the lounge and kitchen she can still see us but she usally goes in her crate.

Also my male cat has started to spray can anyone suggest anything as I really want to get it right I've never owned a puppy so this is very new. Thanks in advance.

Hi there
Re the barking you are doing the best thing, ignoring the bad behaviour, keep at it and it will work. Fidget was the same with the hoover but she is fine with it now.

As for leaving the door open, I think thats fine, she is less likely to have accidents.

Regarding the walks, once she has had her jabs take to different places such as woods so she can get more involved with the outside and she will begin to enjoy it. She is probably still a little scared.

Regarding the Cat I am so sorry I have no experience of cats.

hi also she has started nipping at my ankles i am wearing boots but i was turning my back and ignoring her but she just kept following my feet and then jump up trying to bite. when i sat down she nipped me behind my knee which really hurt so i said out and i put the stair gate up. i hope she dosent do this when she gets a lot bigger as it will really hurt. is it a puppy phase ? and she wees if she dosent get attention.

thanks for the advice my cat has not sprayed since. shes getting there with the walking cant wait for the 2nd jab so we can go exploring in woods im sure she will love that. shes still tries to bark but i think its her way of playing i kind of grawled sorry about spelling back at her and she looked and lied down and went off to play else were shes sleeping by my feet at the moment but i have to hoover as she found a paper tube and has chewed it and now theres a mess bless. i have now bought a harness which is a lot better and i find shes better without the lead typical springer lol.
