keeping an 8week old springer Spaniel outside

by Alan Mason

Hi we had our 8 week old springer 2 days ,we also have a 2 yr old choc lab. We have a large kennel in a fair sized garden with plenty of straw bedding.

Will the puppy be ok to sleep outside with the lab in kennel? they have spent 2 full days together and seem to get along, just a bit worried as the lab is very large framed and may accidently hurt the puppy??

Hi there
Personally I would give them their own space until the springer pup is a little more robust, just to be on the safe side.

Puppy Trouble
by: Julie Davies

We recently got a female springer puppy, we also have a 2yr old male springer. They bonded very quickly, sleeping together just like your two. But now 5 at months old, the pup seems to boss & actually bully the 2yr old. I would def keep them apart for now, to save trouble further down the line. letting the pup know who the boss is, ie the older dog.

I have an extremely large and overly boisterous 1 year old springer and a 10 week old petite girly springer. they sleep together and he even sits on her and shes fine, she likes the company :)
