Male or Female Springer Spaniel?

by Brian
(Pennsylvania)

Hello all,

My family is looking at Field English Springer Spaniel pups and we aren't sure whether to go with a male or female. Are there any major differences in temperament?

Thanks a million!!!!

Brian

Females tend t be very biddable, and males a bit bolder. However there are very biddable male springer spaniels out there too, I have one.

Why I prefer females
by: Liz

After having male and female spaniels, I tend to prefer females. The most basic reason is that females do not lift their legs and urinate on your very expensive foundation plantings and shrubs around your house. Females seem to have a kinder, gentler disposition and regard you as their best friend most of the time.

Male or Female
by: Michele

I really think it's a matter of personal preference. I prefer females, but that's just me. Whichever you choose, be sure to spay or neuter as this makes either gender a better pet.

Good luck!
