Our Sweet Millie

This lovely Springer was the light of our lives. She loved going on rides and walks. Just being with us brightened her day and ours.

She loved giving hugs when she was younger and playing with us when we came home from work.
Millie was 12 1/2 years old when we had to have her put to sleep.

She had many health issues that we could no longer make better for her. She had a wonderful last day, we think she was actually happy that we had finally made the decision to let her go.
We have not been able to replace her yet, but we know when we are ready we will have another Springer Spaniel.

It's so sad - but you made a good, yet difficult, decision. We lost our first springer, Yogurt, 5 years ago....I still cry, but not as much. We now have Cassy, and Sammy, our first ESRA foster. They loved each other from the get-go, and they have rescued us from the loss.

Bless you hearts! I know that was a tough decision....not wanting to lose a faithful pet, but not wanting her to live with a poor quality of life. I know the heartbreak you feel, having lost my dear English Springer Spaniel (Charlie) a year and a half ago. After all this time, I miss her terribly and I still cry over her loss. However, I was lucky to have found another springer (who incidentally was born the same month and year that my Charlie passed) and she is a wonderful girl whom I adore. Nellie could never take Charlie's place, but she is a welcomed addition to our family.

Oh, I'm so sorry. I know it's so difficult to lose our beloved pets. My Casey is 12. She's healthy, but I worry about the days she isn't. I hope you'll leave your heart open to another dog that you will grow to love as much as Millie.
