My 8th month old Springer seems underweight?

My 8 month old male springer weighs 11.5kg, he appears underweight, his rib cage is visible and you can feel all his bones. He is on a natural dried food Lamb and Rice with no wheat or soya in it, but does on average about 6 poo's a day! He is always hungry, I have recently put him on a higher protein diet for underweight dogs which is all natural again. He is very active on walks and will go forever and seems happy enough. But I am concerned about his weight and amount that comes out the other end on a daily basis.. Any thoughts, suggestions..... Many thanks

Is he wormed regularly? That may be causing him to be underweight.

Underweight springer NEW

My boy is fully grown and 18 months old he is only 19kgs and has been assessed to be in the heathy weight range. They are all different weights and sizes and remember he will still be growing. Give him time to catch up as he is probably a ball of energy :-)

my cocker was tje same NEW

I have a cocker who seemed very under weight and always starving hungry. I upped his food to twice daily and also changed his food to a higher protein. He also used to poo all day long lol.....however...he is now a year and half, and he is starting to fill out. He is very muscular and strong . So I would say just keep going on his high protein and split his meals. Good luck

Hi I had the same thing happen with my springer. Found it really difficult to get him to put the weight on. I did a lot of swapping brands until I found a good combo. I use super coat dry/wet in combo with raw meats (chicken) and bones (lamb) and fresh cooked vegetables he stopped pooing as much. But I didn't really see any changes until around the 12 month old point. Some springers do have sensitive stomachs so u just need to find what suits him. just remember to transition food changes slowly.
