enjoying his two favorite things water and his ball

Hi my 1yr Spaniel as been having issues for a few months hes been to the vets but they cant seem to solve the problem.

- He gets very tired very quickly on his walks.
- Every few weeks he has pain from what we can tell in his back legs, He struggles and whimpers when climbing stairs getting onto sofa etc.
- When we take him for a run his stools become very loose and he goes every few meters though if he goes in the garden or the first time on his walk his stools are normal.

Can anyone please help.

Degenerative Mylopothy NEW
by: Anonymous

I lost my springer at 10 yrs old from Degenerative
Mylopothy if your springer does not have hip dysplasia I would check on sending blood for testing. DM is a disease similar to Lou Gericks
disease and MS in humans. Unfortunately it is in the springer breed the only way to know is by having the blood tested. Google online the disease and you will find the University of Missouri's info
about there testing. When I put my boy down I donated organs for their study. I hope and pray this does not have to happen to you.
Good luck and many prayers.

hip problems NEW
by: Anonymous

I am so sorry to hear of your pups problems. My Emma was diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia this past summer @ the age of 2 1/2. For some time, I had noticed she favored her rear right leg. Took her to the vet 2 times and both times he said he thought she had sprained it. The 3rd time, I asked to see the other vet. He immediately did xrays and diagnosed the problem. I am heart sick about it as she just turned 3 on Dec. 26th and has gotten to the point that she cannot jump up on the couch now. She has moments when she acts healthy, but that soon goes away. Springers are prone to have hip might want to check on that. I am so very very sorry :-(
