My springer spaniel pup barks and gets aggressive at night

We have a 4 month old springer pup who is lovely most of the time but has started in the evenings to jump on to the settee ( which he is not allowed on) and barking at myself and my husband and biting. We keep dragging him off and saying no but he's still doing tends to be about the same time every evening - generally when the children have gone to is always after he has had his walk as well when he should be tiring.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You want to put a stop to this asap. The longer it goes on the harder it will be to break this habit. You need to let the pup know that you and your husband are in charge. You need to be the pack leader! Do you have a crate? Have you been to obedience classes? I would recommend both to you. Crates are great for help in training. Dogs get used to them and end up using them without being told. My dogs will go to their crates if they are tired or if something upsets them. Any time the pup started barking and jumping on the sofa I would sharply say "no". Then I would take him to the crate and give him a 10 minute time out. Let him out and if he does it again - same thing. "No" and back to the crate. Good luck!
