by Rich Carter

I have two springers a male and a female at least once a month there is a dead possum in the yard how do I get them to quit killing them?

I guess the possums try to come down and get there food

Thanks Rich

I forgot to add in my last comment that Opossums eat snails. As I am an avid gardner, this makes me happy, and willing enough to accompany my Winslow out at night on his lead when he is doing his business.

If this is a hassle for you, maybe someone else has another solution!

Oh dear, I have this problem too. The only solution I have come up with is that he must be on lead when he goes out to do his night business. Opossums are nocturnal. They usually have someplace safe to sleep during the day. Chances are your crew is finding them in the evening or dusk hours when they are foraging.
At least that is the case with my boy. Once he found a opossum at night, a baby, and brought it to me, there was no discouraging him from looking again.
