My very passive Springer Spaniel has started growling at me.

by Kim
(Green Bay, WI)

My 5 year old Springer has started growling at me when I kiss her or pet her. She is so passive and afraid of her own shadow and I am shocked she is doing this. I have noticed a decrease in her appetite and also when she wants to be left alone and someone bothers her she breaths very hard. I have a call in to my vet but in the meantime I am very saddened by her behavior.

Growling Problem NEW
by: Owner of Sophie Mae

We talked with the vet and there is nothing physically wrong with her. We did notice though before she growled she would breathe hard for a few minutes. That was our cue to leave her alone. She was only trying to tell us she didn't want to be touched, kissed and hugged. Now that we know when she starts breathing loudly we have to leave her alone, there has been no more growls! We still love her madly and she is the light of our life.
