Rags - The Rubber Mad Springer Spaniel

A Warm and Cosy Springer Spaniel
Our darling Rags, who sadly passed away in December aged 15 due to a heart condition, not that this ever stopped his antics.
'Obsessed' doesn't even begin to explain what he was like with rubber toys/bones/balls. Any relaxation we might have been able to snatch was always disturbed by a thud at our feet and a wee happy face anxiously waiting for us to throw whatever toy had landed there - right up until his last day.
And of course, the super waggy tail in constant full swing as well - the sound of 'doof, doof, doof, doof' as his tail hit off everything will forever be in our ears!
In the latter months his body clock must have gotten a little out of whack as we'd often be awakened at 4.00 am with a ball nudged in beside us and a fly lick on the face - play time!!!
You couldn't help but smile and laugh as he'd be sent back to to bed and he'd trot off in an absolute huff...... and try again at 5.00 am :-)
My partner got Rags from a cat and dog home when he was 7 years old. He had been picked up a couple of times out wandering the streets after escaping his home, but the last time his family never came back for him.
To this day we cannot believe or understand why, he was the most gentle and loving creature we have ever encountered and it broke our hearts to say goodbye to him.
We are so thankful that this wonderful dog was such a huge part of our lives and we will miss him forever.
God bless and sweet dreams (which we know will be of rubber toys).
