Rescue Springer peeing in excitement

We rescued a springer she is so adorable but we have a problem when we enter the house she gets excited and pee's on the floor how can we stop this?

From Anna@love-springer-spaniels.com

This is common with springers as they can be very biddable, in fact my springer bitch Fidget can do this, the best thing is to ignore her when you come in the house, don't even look at her.

They get sometimes pee when all the focus is on them and this can help stop it. Good luck - A

Hi,our 2 year old springer tiddles with excitement if he hasn`t been out for a bit and we`ve been out or if someone comes round to the house, so we tend to go straight outside with him point to the floor and say "wee wee" until he does and then we give him loads of attention. He knows the routine now and is 98% better, just the odd sprinkle. It was getting quite bad cause as you know springers dont just wee, they bounce and wee lol. Good luck.
