springer spaniel puppy and working

Will it be ok for my springer Spaniel puppy when Iget one to be left alone from 08.30 to half 13.00 as I work 5 days a week? I'm also thinking about getting a crate .

Hi there
It should be fine, but what I would say is to ensure that somone does spend some time with it in the morning as it will be a baby and need the company.

Puppy and Working
by: Cathy Hatfield

These seem very sensible hours for a pup to handle, especially if you do have someone look in on him.
I would only add, don't run errands on the way home, as we all tend to do. Go home to the pup, get him some attention and exercise, and then run your errands if need be. If you have a couple of easy errands, take him with you, and he will be happy and become used to car rides. If it is a long errand or to a not dog friendly place, don't bring him. A great errand to share with your pup to make him happy with car rides is a drive to a drive thru hamburger joint, and get him a kids burger without the bread. He will love you, and be happy to hop into the car! My drive through bank also gives dog cookies. I mention this because I have a friend with a dog distressed by car rides, and it is limiting his opportunity for outings to great parks and dog friendly cafes.
