I find this the best way
by: Anonymous

To stop your puppy nipping you.... The minute she does it squeal really high pitched and stand up and turn your back on her.
Ignore her behaviour and she will soon catch on.
When in the litter their mothers does this to teach them manners.

So you are just acting like mother teaching her litter to behave.

when jerry was a pup and he nipped i use to say a firm NO and immediatley hand him his toy to chew.
After a few weeks he grew out of it.

Communicating
by: Michele

Hi! I have two Springers; Casey is our little old lady at 11 years old and Sadie is our baby girl at 2 years. They are both the very definition of Springer Spaniels, each in their own way!

I'd be glad to correspond with you! My email address is michelemarie400@yahoo.com

nipping
by: June

My ESS, Emma, started nipping as a pup. She is 18 mos. now. Like you said, it wasn't malicious; just playful. I finally started taking my fingers and putting her lip into her mouth as she bit...biting herself. She quickly realized that was not the thing to do. Solved our problem.
