Springer Spaniel Weight issue

How much should a 10 month old springer weigh?

From Anna@love-springer-spaniels.com

Hi There
In theory fully grown springer weighs between 23 to 25 KG however I am not overly keen on using this as a guide as they do vary in size and build quiet dramatically.

A show line springer can be much bigger and heavier set than a working line, and Fidget who is the same age as yours is the size of a working cocker.

So as long they are eating well, and are being wormed then you shouldn't worry. You should be able to feel an element of the rib cage when you stroke them.

They are very active dogs so think of them as atheletes, they should be lean when they are young.

Hope that helps

Anna

weight of a springer NEW
by: Anonymous

My boy is overweight if he goes over 17kg, he is a small working springer, and needs to be 16.5 kg ideally. He is easy to keep at his ideal weight, as he loves his exercise.
