Springer Spaniel Weight Loss

Hi
I have a Springer (Smartie) who is 4 months old, he loves going on walks he usually goes on two or three short 30 miute walks and two walks of around 2 hours per week - whenever we take him on a long walk it seems as though his ribs are really visible he is eating well he is on pedigree puppy food - am I over exercising for his age or should I perhaps introduce some wet food in with his dry to increase his calorie intake?

Hi Emma
Springers are usually thin when they are young because they are just so active. Try putting him on a active dog food. Burns do a fantastic working dog food and they deliver. George has bursn and he loves it

Weight Loss
by: Tara

I have a 18 Month Springer Spaniel, from the first day I got her she was a very fussy eater, She never really put on weight for me. She only ever picks at her food and sometimes only would eat a handful of nuts for a number of days. I have tried Several different brands of food for her but she is the same with them all. She is a very active dog, been checked by the vet on numerous occasions and is in good health apart from her weight. She has been spayed as per the vets advice to help her gain some weight but that has not helped her at all.
Any advise or help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Tara
