Springer spaniel who does not like girls

We have a springer of just 2.75 years He is very good natured and constantly plays with our son aged 7 and his friends.

We have recently noticed that he is not so friendly with little girls and has growled at least twice at little girls who have tried to pet him.
Advice please as we are very worried that he might bite some little girl.

I am so sorry you are having this trouble. WHat you need to do is get your springer to build positive associations to girls.

So get one of your female guests to sit on the floor with a bag of treats and get her to keep giving treats to your springer with lots of praise.

Repeat this over time and soon he should begin to become more relaxed as he realises god things come from girls.

Also you may want to think about getting him neutered if he is not already, as that removes alot of natural aggression they may have.
