Springer Spaniels living up to their names

Our first little girl ended up being Duchess, her fancy name was Barngates My Darling Duchess, and she sure was a Duchess, hated getting her feet wet, hated getting scolded, was a prissy and girlie as can be.
Our next Springer was Fred. Fred was a farm boy, a real hayseed and Duchess just "hated" him. Duchie would growl at Freddie for just breathing or walking across the floor.
Secretly she liked him and would cuddle him and mother him when she thought we weren't looking. After Duchie left us and we got a new puppy was a quandry, what to name him? Spouse wanted to call him Duke or Earl--I didn't want to.
We still had Fred so the neighbors started calling the little one Barney--it stuck--it was a Flintstone thing. Barney's fancy name is Major Barnwell Diddly-do--which leads us to the most recent family member Cappie.
Cappie, is Captin Freddie Too, Cappie is the Navy derivitave of Captin-- funny how this all seems to hang together. And you know every one of our Springers seems to have lived upt to their names. Return to Springer Spaniels NamesReturn to Love Springer Spaniels Homepage
