Taking on a 9 month female springer with our two male springers

We currently have two male springer spaniels one five and the other 2 yrs old. We have been offered a nine month old female springer and were seeking some advise before we say yes. Any advise would be welcome. We love springers.

Hi Nick
Great to hear you are helping rescue a springer. What I would first say is are your boys neutered? If not you may want to think about that for two reasons. The first being obvious to avoid your springer family growing over night as puppies appear, and the second is to stop the male rivalry that females will obviously stoke.

Now you can avoid the puppies if she is spayed but the aggression between the boys may still happen, so you may want to get the boys fixed.

Other than that I can see no problems.

Good Luck

We have a mixed pack and the others are right; so much easier if they are neutered/spayed. However, it is always handy to have a crate or two about incase of rivalry. Give them all time (and their own space) and an expanding pack is wonderful.
Good luck
