Treats for my springer puppy 8 weeks

We have a puppy (8 weeks) and finding it hard to find treats that he likes and are age appropriate. When I visit my local pet store and the majority of the puppy treats are for over 3 months.

Ideally I would like something that is small and can be used for rewards and is also good for him growing.

Treats for your Puppy NEW
by: Cathy Hatfield

When my puppy was small (and still now at 10 years old) I carried a wrapped string cheese snack in my pocket. I could break off a piece for him, or eat some myself. I liked it because it was wrapped and my pockets didn't get dirty. Or smaller than a dice pieces of cheddar cheese work too (or jack cheese if that is what you make your grilled cheese out of).
Also, I would cook up (boil bake or whatever) pieces of chicken, however you buy it for yourself. Cool and cut into small pieces and keep them in a snack size baggie in the refrigerator so they are handy when you go out. When you cook the chicken yourself, you can choose organic or not, but at least you know it wasn't from a processed chicken dried in Thailand or China with who knows what added to it.
Either of these treats are healthy for your put. What else mine liked was Cheerios ! Boy are they easy to carry and inexpensive!
