Thank you for your help, it is not for money, im breeding, but this is one of the best dogs iv ever had, i used to shoot,and she is fully trained. What i want to do, is keep three pups, and train them up to a year, keep the best, and then sell the others to cover costs, thanks again to you both, kind regards Paul.

Well, you know what they say about opinions....but here goes. If this is your first time breeding I would definitely do my homework first. Breeding can be expensive and puppies are a tremendous amount of work. The object of breeding should be to have a beautiful dog free of defects and with good character / personality. Dogs should not be bred for monetary reasons. So, as I said...homework! You really need to know the backgrounds of a couple of generations of the bitch and the male before you begin breeding.

No your Springer Spaniel bitch is not to old to breed from. The Kennel club puts the age limit to breed at 8; after that they will not register the Springer Spaniel puppies.
Due to her age make sure she has a full check up with the vet to get the all clear before she has a litter of springer spaniel puppies, as with us a pregnancy later in life can have its complications
