Why does our Springer Spaniel stare at the floor for periods of time and then just snap out of it?
Our Springer spaniel is perfectly healthy, but he spends many periods of time - often up to 10 minutes - just staring at the carpet, with his neck craned vertically straight to the floor, snout an inch from the carpet.
He can be sat upright or laid down when he does this. You can call his name and he'll wag his tail, but he won't move a muscle otherwise. After a while, he'll just snap out of it and carry on about his doggy business as usual. Is this perhaps a part of the whole ingrained hunting instinct? Or could it be he's a meditating Spaniel?! Many thanks in advance for any comments :0)From Anna@love-springer-spaniels.com
My Springer George does this, and I know what you mean its completely bizarre. He usually does it after a long run and a bath. I have no idea why he does it, but it doesn't seem to be harming him. Lets hope others can help us out with our "weird springers"
