Why is my springer spaniel limping?

Hi,

I got my springer spaniel Luke about 2 years ago. He has been healthy and very active. A few months ago he would cry when anyone would get too close to him and I was wondering what was up. I did an examination on him myself and he seemed fine. A month or so later, he started limping pretty bad. It is due to one of his front shoulders it seems and usually happens after playing hard or long walks. He has a light consistent limp that doesnt go away however, it gets worse in the above conditions. I know this breed is succeptible to Hip Displasia, but not sure if his forward arms are included or what the symptoms of that may be.

Thank you,

Tara

Hi there
I think you should get your springer checked out by a vet as a limp implies he is in pain.
