Kelly

Kelly is probably the funniest, craziest, cutest, most amazing springer i know, even though when i read about other springers they all look like her twins. Anyway, she is 1 yrs old and we got her at the tender age of 4 weeks, which is a bit early but she turned out great thank goodness! i mummied her all the way to doggyhood and she is not a very confident and proud little thing. Anyway, the amazing thing about Kelly is that she immediately LOVES anyone she meets, everywhere we go she is center of attention...example: we went to the beach and we were playing piggy in the middle (Kelly being in the middle with someone else poor thing) and all the kids wanted to play and Kelly turned them all into dog lovers, begging their mum for a dog (oops so i was giving lots of speeches about what hard work having a dog is). also Kelly is the best dog at cuddling I've ever had...so she jumps on the bed and uses you as a pillow, and she closes her eyes and breathes deeply and passionately as u pat her! sooo cute! anyway...I can go and on about Kelly. Love her crazy self to bits :D

I'm sure that if George met Kelly he'd fall deeply in love with her as she also an amazingly pretty female sassy springer who likes to charm males :P simply irresistible!

Algi - The All Rounder!

This is Algi my 5 year old English Springer Spaniel.

I have had him since he was a pup, and he is a real mixture of a Spaniel. He lives indoors as a family pet and sleeps downstairs. Indoors he is quite a subdued dog and is happy to relax or sleep. When I get the lead and collar out he is a completely different dog.

He is rubbish on the lead or walking to heel and I would love some tips on making him better please. Off the lead though he is fantastic to watch; in and out of the undergrowth and water and even the occasional springing!!

I've had him out camping with me and walking in the hills which he loves and he is great with my kids.

I think we all love our dogs and think they are the best but Algi is my best mate and I wouldn't change him for the world.

Nice site BTW, any chance to show him off!!!

Archie

Archie is playful and very intelligent! His favourite game is to bring you his ball, wait for you to throw it, and either plead that u run after him to try and get it or returns it straight back! He can do lots of tricks, including spinning around, paw, sit and roll over and likes to play hide and seek with my little sisters! He also nearly died..he drank from a bucket of water that had bleach in and the vet said he wouldnt make it but after having his stomach pumped he made a full recovery! He also loves long runs in the woods, jumping in the river and having his ears rubbed, but hates getting his hair cut and when we stick up the hair on his head to look like a mohican!

Chelsea, Libby and Doc

In my life I have had three Spaniels, these are one shot each of them, all very different personality types, very different body types, but all Springers.

A very strange story, if I might indulge you a bit. My second Spaniel, Chelsea and I had just completed a move from the outskirts of Alpharetta to a place a lot closer to my job. I awoke one morning to find her perched on the pillow around my head, cuddling me as if I was a puppy, she was gently licking me. Being a solitary man as I am it was a rare moment for me to allow myself such affection, but it was a sign I believed of her love. So I let her stay there and I accepted her affection and loved every moment of it. .

A few days latter it became obvious to me something wasn't right with her, a couple of trips to a couple of vets netted no results. A month later I figured out that she had diabetes. Another trip to the vet and it was confirmed. A year later she passed.

A month went by and I couldn't stand myself any longer. I went to look at a few litters of pups. I found a woman who had a litter of 11 pups, the runt of the litter, the only liver and white female in that litter caught my eye. They were all 3 weeks of age and playing around, except for the runt. I brought her up and held her against my chest over my heart, and talked for an hour with the woman who owned the herd of Spaniels. She asked if I had made up my mind, I told her I wanted the runt. She looked at me with amazement, but that was the dog I wanted. I put a deposit down on her, and 6 weeks later I was back to pick up my pup. She had about 6 pups left in her custody, all were sold, but the runt came running over to me like she knew what was going to happen. That first night I kept her on the bed, and in the morning I found her on the pillows wrapped around me liking my forehead like Chelsea had done before she got ill. She does this every night . . . and as it turns out, she is related to Chelsea, the dog she followed in my life. Her name is Libby, actually LA's Liberty 226. I have never know such love in my life. I am truly a lucky man.

Jasmine the Meercat Springer Spaniel

Jasmine is a working springer spaniel about 2 years old. We got her from the Dogs Trust after our 16 year old English springer spaniel Sadie died.

Apparently she had been beaten and left to fend for herself. She was found stray with puppies in Ireland

She is a beautiful springer and we count our blessings to have found her at the dogs trust. Her leaving file reported that she loves lots of cuddles and attention and that is certainly the case. Where ever we go she is there, even if we pop out the room for 5 minutes she greets us on our return as if we haven't seen her for years.

She has her crazy 5 minutes like every other springer, her energy and ability to leap has named her the "Jasmanian Devil"

She loves nothing more than belly rubs, lots of walks and gravy on her dog food.

Comet - Finally a chilled out Springer Spaniel!

Comet is a pretty chilled out springer spaniel - he can have the odd mad 5 minutes, but on the whole he is very calm.

I have had Comet from an 8 week old puppy and was the first puppy I have ever owned.

He is pretty good at obedience and I have just started taking him to agility training - which he is doing really well at.

Comet loves the water and will jump in - even in the height of winter.

Eddie & Dillan

It suddenly seems impossible to believe that these terrors actually did form from the eight week old angels. Eddie is a little baby still, at one year old, Dillan is a complete nightmare, he's always stealing something or ripping it, but that sadly is why we love him. At 2 months old Dillan could open all the doors in the house and soon taught Edward, he could open the fridge door. They are so soso hyper, and when they go on a walk they have to stop and say hello to every other dog and human being, they love going off their lead.

Every five second its, "Dillan put that remote down" or "edward you can't write", they have got themselves into frequent spots of trouble, just yesterday Dillan pierced open a bottle of typex and had have his mouth rinsed out, you can't take your eye off them for one second. When Eddie was 12 weeks, he has the beanbag open and had eaten most of the beans and has to be taken to the vets as he gets a bad stomach. When Dillan was 9 weeks his first vet appointment he fell off the table, went in a healthy dog, and came out with four more appointments for a cast and a bill of £253 for that and his appointments and medication, and the bucket he was not to fond of.

Walks on the beach are their favourites, especially when its not holiday season and they can go off their lead, they end up attempting to go home with other dogs they met on the beach. Its wonderful to see them tearing down the coast. They are sat in their baskets as I write this flashing.

Monty the Springer Spaniel Puppy- Only 7 weeks old!

We have had Monty our springer spaniel puppy for 2 days so we are still getting to know each other. So far quite a lot of biting and jumping despite having lots of toys but no terrible disasters though.

We have had a few accidents on the rug instead of the newspaper. On the bright side all the poop has been outside and some of the wees.

As his confidence grows he is exploring more of his environment, and his pack. He has already worked out that he is higher in the pack than the andrex puppy toy but he is not sure about the cat and hopefully he is beginning to know who IS in charge. He will be 8 weeks in 2 days when he will get his first vaccine.

House Guest for the week...Darcy the Rescue Springer Spaniel

Here's our sweet house guest this week. We like to call it "Springer Camp" as we have 3 springer spaniels altogether for a week (along with Cassy & Sam).

Darcy came into springer rescue from a Kansas breeder relinquishment in November, 2008.

He was fostered by my neighbor, and we got to keep him during Thanksgiving and Christmas as his foster mom was out of town. She has adopted him. Who wouldn't? He is sooooo cute. He is English Cocker/English Springer mix. He is a snuggler!

Sammy was our first foster and we have had him since April, 2007. Cassy rules the roost, and will pout in an effort to get her way!! Sammy just "goes with the flow."

Well. Brandy is the most entertaining dog you'll meet! He loves the outdoors and he go's crazy for the dog park and loves to go for walks. When we take him for walks around a pond near our home there is no stopping him, he jumps right in the water and tries to catch the ducks. we also flick rocks for him and he tries to find the exact rock that we flick for him. When you tell him you are going for a walk he makes all these funny faces and jumps up to the height of you! Brandy will do about anything for a treat, he will jump,sit,lie down,spin and anything else you tell him to do! He is the best family pet you could ever have he is loving affectionate and loyal and will do anything to be around you! He is the most wonderful dog!

our jake jake is a very placid 3yr old except when he is in a field then he becomes a tazmanian devil with a springer suit on a bit like the one off the loony tunes .He is fantastic with the children and very loving with all the family although he is not a great lover of cats.
We are looking forward to finding him a girl friend ,he would make lovely pups.

Fern - The Fur Child! Springer Spaniel

Its all about fun, fun, fun with Fern our 5 year old Springer Spaniel an only child.

If she isn't sneaking into bed for an early morning cuddle, which leads to a whole lot of snorin and a lot of space hogging, then she'll be eagerly sitting just outside the back door waiting for you to come and play; having left a ball somewhere you're guaranteed to fall over on it and are more than likely to then throw it!

She's always calling shotgun in the truck, is the master of cute looks for attention and has everyone who visits us playing throw and fetch within seconds, and will then ensure they entertain her for ages once they start. How can you resist throwing something for her when she pushes it into your hands when she brings it back, then scoots back a foot, sits, and gives it the pleading 'throw again?' look with her head on one side for added cuteness?

She loves swimming and is hard to keep out of anywhere wet be it water or thick mud and she'll work hard to retrieve anything you through in for her, even if she has to dive under the surface to find it! I think she believes she's an otter.

She knows that the sound of the TV going off or the laptop shutting down is a sure sign we're off to bed and she always rises to the sound of the alarm clock.

She's an absolute gem to have around, a real people pup and as big hearted as they come with endless character. Spoiled rotten and loved to bits by all who meet her, that's Fern.

Willow the ball chasing springer spaniel

I think I am getting repetitive strain of the shoulder through having to constantly throw the ball for Willow.However I wouldn't be without her my lovable Springer Spaniel.

She is 2.5yrs old and I got her shortly after loosing my Mum...she has been the best therapy for grief...

She was trimmed and groomed on Sat afternoon and spent Saturday evening shivering - but she looks brilliant...the photo I've attached was taken last year...

Buster

Well Buster is quite the pup, He is an English Springer. My husband says he is attached to my hip. He was a gift to me from my son, I had a Collie for 14 yrs and it just destroyed me when we had to make the decision to put him down, and I swore NO MORE DOGS, as it hurts too much.

Then I lost my job, got depressed and here comes my son with this little dog in his arms, I actually thought it was his dog and he was just visiting with her (My son also has a Springer and she is Buster's sister!) He told me he thought that I needed him!!! WOW was he right, it was hard at first, scared to love him, then he showed me that I can love him with all my heart, he is a character all right. He still suckles on this black toy we gave him and he has to sit on me all the time, well on the edge of the arm of the chair now he is bigger, He is learning very fast, and he is training me also. He is rambunctious, but he is still a pup.

If I'm in the pool, oh he has to be there as well, even if he is just sitting on my knee and moving around, he will jump from the picnic table into the pool.

We have several names for him, ADD Pup, Goofy, His nose certainly gets the best of him, that is where the ADD pup comes from, he will be on his way back to you and whoop off he goes as he smelled something! He tries to catch birds, Like he can really catch them! But he brought me so much joy!

Flicker the Faithful Friend!

Every morning Flick needs a full body massage standing on his back legs with his front paws reaching to my shoulders. His day just can't begin without it.

Boundless excitement every time I come home, as if I had been gone for a month. No question he is the best dog I have ever had - full of personality and faithful and a true friend.

Kona my Rescue English Springer Spaniel

Kona is a real Houdini! so far, she's figured out how to open up the kitchen louver windows and slip out sideways! she did just that several times, and went galavanting about until she reached a school park half a mile away...luckily, she was sitting in front of the driveway by the time we got home. She acted as if it was no big deal. Kona is learning to like the ocean, though she's a bit hesitant about the water and the waves, right now.

Yup, here it is - Cassy!!!! is she thinking..."Hummm....the trash will be picked up here Monday. I'm going to bail, and with any luck, Sammy will be picked up!"

Actually, she would really miss him, here springer spaniel pal; so he will probably get to stay!! It has taken a year or so for her to "get off her high horse" and be nice to him. Now they are pretty much co-dependent! However, she is a drama queen, and her antics are pretty comical!

Maddie

Maddie is nearly 6 years old and lives in southern New South Wales, Australia. She has lived all her life on a farm so has hundreds of acres to play in including a creek and the Snowy River.

She loves rolling in kangaroo or wombat poo when she's in the paddock, and has brought home dead sheep a few bones at a time! (She likes rolling in that too.)

Although she has had no training, she is an excellent gun dog - not frightened by the shots and will retrieve anything that is brought down.

She had a problem when 2 rabbits were hit with one shot - she jumped out of the truck and picked up the first one, saw the second rabbit and dropped the 1st one to get the 2nd, then saw the 1st one again - and you guessed it - couldn't decide which one to bring back!!

She is my first springer after having 2 cocker spaniels - spaniels are just the most beautiful, loving dogs.

Molly our Springer Spaniel, thinks she is human, as you can see she will get up on the chair in the kitchen and watch the world go by.

You would never think looking at her here that she is in fact a working Springer Spaniel. She is very good at making herself at home.
